Dear Family and Friends:
As many of you know, I've recently begun running again. During my last race I noticed how people were running for different causes, and I started |

asking around to see if I could do the same. Speaking with a Rabbi friend of mine who has run several marathons, I learned about "Running for Israel". So, on April 26, 2009, I will be participating in The La Jolla Half Marathon as part of the "Running For Israel" campaign. "Running for Israel" began as an ideato help increase public awareness of the issues facing the State ofIsrael and the needs of the people who live there. While there is of course no obligation, if you would like to give a little tzedakah to this worthwhile cause (check out the website for details), that would bewonderful. If you know of anyone else who might be interested in this (or in running in future races/marathons, as many people are getting involved by running along with the people doing this), please pass this along. Thanks for giving it some thought! --Mike |
